I suspect that this was the home for silverware when Links served his famous fried chicken. He allowed customers to select a chicken from the pen and served the chicken in one hour or it was free. He could boast of the freshest chicken in Gilpin County. Winks Lodge in Lincoln Hills (Gilpin County). Built in 1925 by architect Wendall Hamlet, the lodge was a place for African Americans to escape the city for rest and relaxation in the mountains.
