Datecirca 1915SummaryMy grandmother, Olive Edith Kullgren (1897-1986), attended Woodworth's Shorthand College & Night School in Denver. By 1915 she was advertising her stenography services: the 1915 Corbett & Ballenger's 43rd Annual Denver City Directory lists Miss Olive Kullgren of 3435 Shoshone Street as a stenographer, under the heading "Bookkeeping, Shorthand, Stenotypy, Touch Typing." The 1920 census states that she was working as a stenographer at a Denver creamery. Olive's parents, owners of Kullgren House, had recently moved to Denver from Lafayette, CO. In Denver they lived at 3435 Shoshone. Woodworth's Shorthand College was located at 1720-1726 Colorado Blvd when this photo was taken. After 1919, the college moved to the Masonic Building. The proprietor, William Alexander Woodworth, lived at 1710 Colorado Blvd. This photo may have been taken in front of one of those Colorado Blvd. addresses.
