Founded in 1908, Western Slavonic Association, Zapadna Slovanska Zveza, met in the saloon formerly known as Fort Linden Hall, at 4468 Washington Street. The building housed the business offices of several Slovenian fraternal organizations and was referred to as the Slovenian Home, the Slovenian Hall or the Slovenian Gardens. Sunday Masses, confessions, weddings and funerals were held in the hall before Holy Rosary Church was completed. McDonald's occupies the site today.
