Summary
Born in Marshall, Virginia, on October 4, 1875, Daniel Blue spent much of his adult life in the military. He enlisted in the U.S. Army at age 22, beginning a long military career that included service with the 10th Cavalry, otherwise known as the Buffalo Soldiers. He later married Ailleen Coleman (1902–1996), and together they raised a daughter, Maurice (1925–2007). Daniel passed away on June 10, 1960, at the U.S. Soldiers Home Hospital in Washington, D.C., at the age of 84.
