Kenneth Jessen photo collectionNotesPhotographer's note: "Wages was named after an early settler in the area. A plat was filed for Wages in 1920, but the post office had already been in operation for three years, moved from Ford to Wages in 1917. The post office continued in operation until 1950. The site is at the intersection of County Roads 58 and V. In response to an influx of new settlers after 1905, church services were held in the schoolhouse at Wages. The Wages Epworth Methodist Church was started in 1915, and the building was completed the following year. It had a full-time minister until 1946, followed by a succession of student pastors. It was rededicated in 1950, and in 1969, it became a United Methodist Church. The Wages schoolhouse was moved to the east of the site in 1960."DonorGift; Kenneth Jessen; 2020.
