They sit in an otherwise empty field with no other structures within sight. The location is at the intersection of Edison and Rasner roads. The Leader United Methodist Church was founded in 1917 and the church building was constructed in 1920. The Edison United Methodist Church held Sunday school in the Edison schoolhouse five miles due north. The two congregations merged in 1942, and during the winter, continued to meet at Edison because the Leader church only had a pot bellied stove for heat. In 1950, a couple of propane stoves were installed at Leader, and from that point on, the church was used year-round."DonorGift; Kenneth Jessen; 2020.
