Kenneth Jessen photo collectionNotesDerived title. Photographer's note: "Although there is not much to indicate the presence of a town, there are two school buildings at Drennan. One is a modest one-room school and the other is a larger two-story high school. There was a rural post office at Drennan that operated from 1922 to 1951. The place was formerly called Hibbard. The name came from a Mr. Drennan who graciously gave land for the first schoolhouse. It was part of the Widefield District organized in 1874. The school became the center of the community and at one time, had student housing and a house for the caretaker. The high school closed in 1955 with consolidation of various districts. Drennan is at the intersection of Drennan Road and Marksheffel Road."DonorGift; Kenneth Jessen; 2020.
