Moved to Denver 1873, Nov.1, and became proprietor Inter-Ocean Hotel. Sold 1876 and opened Grand Central, which he ran until 1879, then located in Leadville and purchased Clarendon and Grand Hotels and conducted them 4 years. Married, Denver, May 1, 1868, to Miss Miller of Georgetown. Fourth Vermont Infantry. Mrs. C died in Denver Mch. 24, 1900. Chapin & Dennison Grocers dissolved Nov.1868.
