Summary
Smoke rises from Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad locomotive #482 (2-8-2), with a pilot mounted snowplow, as it rounds a bend at Mears Junction (Chaffee County), Colorado. The consist of gondola cars is on a trestle over probably Poncha Creek. Snow is in the valley. The train is the last to travel from Salida to Alamosa.
