Call NumberNS-712Datecirca 1901SummaryWilliam Frederick "Buffalo Bill" Cody stops on his horse in the right midground in a dirt arena during a rehearsal for Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. Wearing a dark hat and a dark, striped suit, Cody talks with Sioux Chief Iron Tail, who stands in the center midground in front of a large group of Native Americans. Iron Tail holds a blanket around his shoulders and wears his hair in braids that are pinned up to form long loops. Several of the Native American men behind him wear feathers on their heads and also hold blankets around their shoulders. A few of them wear breastplates, possibly made from bone. Several Native American women seated on the ground behind Iron Tail wear long necklaces, possibly made from dentalium sheels. Two large buildings are in the background.Physical Description1 photoprint : black and white ; 15 x 25 cm (5 3/4 x 9 1/2 in.)Born-Digital or AnalogAnalogSubjectIndians of North AmericaWild west showsRehearsalsBuffalo Bill, 1846-1917Iron TailBuffalo Bill's Wild West ShowCollectionPhotographs - Western HistoryRelated MaterialImage File: ZZR700105712Type of MaterialPhotographic printsDigital Version Created FromSalsbury collection, Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, album 6Original Material Found in CollectionSalsbury collection, Buffalo Bill's Wild West ShowNotesSalsbury Collection Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show Rehearsal Pictures 1901 typed on first page of album; on final page of album "Cubans actual war veterans of Spanish-American War Color Guard under Gen.
