The building is of wood construction, with a false front with an elaborate cornice; three windows with decorative arches are over them on the second floor. The main entrance, a double door, is flanked by two large mullioned windows, and over the first floor a sign the length of the building reads, "J. Snetzer Merchant Tailor." A horseshoe is on the bottom of the sign over the door, the number "414" is just above the door frame, and the right door has "L. Bagatelle" at the top. Curtains are drawn in all windows. A rough board sidewalk across the front is connected to the dirt street by a wood walkway.
