Call NumberNS-139Datecirca 1884SummaryWilliam Frederick "Buffalo Bill" Cody sits in a tent in the center background with young Johnny Baker standing near him. A man sits under Cody's tent. A banner with a buffalo head painted on it flies above the tent. The tent is probably the headquarters for Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show, possibly while touring in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. An additional tent is on each side of Cody's tent. Sitting under the left tent with his three sons and another man is Adam Bogardus, one of Cody's original partners. The two were also partners with Nate Salsbury, later principal owner and manager of Buffalo Bill's Wild West. Three men are in front of the tent in the right background.Physical Description1 photoprint : black and white ; 18 x 25 cm (7 1/4 x 9 1/2 in.) on mat 28 x 36 cm (11 x 14 in.); 1 photoprint : black and white ; 19 x 23 cm (7 1/4 x 9 in.) on mat 28 x 36 cm (11 x 14 in.)Born-Digital or AnalogAnalogSubjectWild west showsShow tentsBuffalo Bill, 1846-1917Baker, Johnny, d. 1931Bogardus, AdamBuffalo Bill's Wild West ShowCollectionPhotographs - Western HistoryRelated MaterialImage File: ZZR700105139Type of MaterialPhotographic printsOriginal Material Found in CollectionSalsbury collection, Buffalo Bill's Wild West ShowNotesBuffalo Bill's Wild West in Philadelphia - 1884 Left tent - A.H.
