Call NumberX-2023Date1877-1925SummaryView of the Black Hawk City Hall/Fire Department building. Completed in December of 1877, it was built for City Council meetings|in 1879 its use was expanded to house the fire department and its equipment. Abutting the building is the Colorado Central Railroad trestle that ran to Central City. The building itself is two story with a square facade. The first story has two doorways, one is a large, arched entry with the words "Black Hawk Fire Dept." over the door|the other is a regular rectangular entryway. Stairs are visible on the outside of the building. The second story has three double hung, two sash windows with four panes each topped by segmental arches with keystones marking the upper mid-sections. A concrete plaque commemorating the buildings construction is above the middle window.
