Formerly St. Patrick's, the original structure was damaged in the fire of 1874, and for almost twenty years the congregation worshipped in a roofed-over basement. The name of the church was changed in 1892, and the present building was finished in 1893. The old depot with the section house is to the left of the church across Pine Street. Nevada Street forks with Pine Street in the center of the image. In the foreground are two buidings. House of Sam Walters - was there at time of fire. 6. At time of fire this house was owned by a man who had insurance on it & the story is that he sat on the hill above and hoped that it would burn.
