Summary
The Stanford Mausoleum stands behind palm trees in the arboretum at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. It is guarded by two stone sphinxes and columns decorate its facade. Leland and Jane Stanford, co- founders of the university in 1885, are buried in the mausoleum along with their son, Leland Stanford, Jr.
