Gregory, who first discovered gold in Colorado in 1859. The cut in the hillside shows the vein Gregory followed in search of gold. A large pile of tailings stands on the hill above the cut. Additional mine shafthouses, including the Cook Mine, dot Bobtail Hill in the background.
