Summary
The Ouray Spring Teepee stands in the foreground behind a wire fence with stick posts. The concrete teepee houses the spring from which Ouray, chief of the Utes from 1820 until 1880, and his wife, Chipeta, obtained water when they lived on a farm at the site. A short rock wall surrounds the teepee. Chipeta's sarchophagus stands in the distance. The ground is covered with a blanket of snow.
