The design is a mixture of modernist and Spanish colonial revival elements. In the 1930ΓÇÖs, the building was renamed to Robert Frost after the American Poet who lived from March 26, 1874 to January 29, 1963. The original name ΓÇ£Casa BonitaΓÇ¥ can still be seen in an interior bay above an arched terra cotta light surround.
