Summary
View of the site of the Battle of the Bear Paw Mountains which took place in Montana, October 1877, shows plains, hills and brush with the photographer's shadow. Native American Nez Percé Chief Joseph the Younger led his people from Idaho, with the U.S. Army in pursuit, before he was forced to surrender here.
