Title from typed paper attached to back of photoprint; also reads: "(spelling on the caption) copy of an illustration in: "The Colorado Tourist and Illustrated Guide to the Rocky Mountain Resorts, via the 'Golden Belt' published by the Passenger Department of the Union Pacific Railway. Kansas City, Ramsey, Millet & Hudson, 1880. A copy of this book is in the Sutro Collection of the California State Library (presently housed at the San Francisco Public Library). I had the Brownville picture copied because I had never seen it before. Many of the other illustrations are familiar ones, from "The Crest of the Continent" and other Guide Books. Brownville is above Silver Plume, Colorado, about a half mile. There are very few buildings of any kind standing. A large rock slide covered many of them some years ago. B.
