Call NumberX-1375Date1880-1900SummaryA group of students pose for a group photograph in Georgetown, Colorado. The students are in three lines in front of a brick wall (probably the two-story brick school built 1874.) Two children's faces are dimly seen in one of the windows. The boys and girls appear to be about ten to seventeen years of age; two Black children are in the group. Young boys, some in knickers, sit on the ground in the first row, the second row is of girls, and the third row is boys, with one particularly tall boy in the center. Two young women and a young man stand at the right, possibly teachers or older students. Some of the boys wear wide collars and loose bow ties and others wear long ties; almost all of the girls wear leg-o'- mutton sleeves; their dresses, blouses and skirts are made of plaid, solid, and checked fabric. Most have their hair pulled back.Physical Description1 photoprint ; 12 x 17 cm (4 1/2 x 6 1/2 in.)Born-Digital or AnalogAnalogSubjectGeorgetown (Colo.)--19th centuryAfrican Americans--Colorado--Georgetown--19th centurySchool children--Colorado--Georgetown--19th centuryStudents--Colorado--Georgetown--19th centuryCollectionPhotographs - Western HistoryRelated MaterialImage File: ZZR710001375Type of MaterialPhotographic printsDigital Version Created FromRandallNotesPhotoprint has glue stains and fragments of an album page on back; print is wrinkled; Title supplied by cataloger.
