Call NumberX-1986Date1910-1920SummaryThe Tonopa machine shop in Breckenridge, Colorado, some three hundred feet long, is a corrugated tin and frame structure with a monitor roof. A dock along the length of the building has snow on it; a large flywheel is half exposed above the ground level, and men sit by it. Sash windows are spaced along the sides of the building and the wall of the monitor roof, and a railed lookout with a flagpole is at the top center. A trough runs between the end window in the roof and another building to the right, as does an "I" beam crane track at the next level down. A pulley arrangement hangs from the "I" beam, and other machinery is cluttered around the big end doors. The end of an ore car is to the right and snow covers the foreground.Physical Description1 copy photonegative ; 10 x 13 cm (4 x 5 in.); 1 photoprint : black-and-white ; 10 x 17 cm (4 x 6 1/2 in.)Born-Digital or AnalogAnalogSubjectBreckenridge (Colo.)Machine shops--Colorado--BreckenridgeGeographic AreaBreckenridge (Colo.)CollectionPhotographs - Western HistoryRelated MaterialImage File: ZZR710001986Type of MaterialFilm negativesBlack & white photographsPhotographic printsDigital Version Created FromSummit County Historical Society.NotesFormerly F24071.
