This three story brick and stone structure features bracketed cornices and a mitred entry with a curvelinear pediment. Colonettes and palmettes on the pediment enclose lettering that reads: "The Columbian Hotel." The paired sash windows on all floors have pedimented window heads, and balconies on the mitred face. The center of the northeast wall has a projecting section housing the main entry, where the windows are in sets of three and the roof has a pediment similar to the one at the mitre. A console balcony with railing is over the entry on the second floor, and a railed awning shelters the sidewalk below it. A sign hangs below the console, and a sheet metal and neon sign projects from the mitre into the foreground; both read: "The Columbian Hotel."Physical Description1 copy photonegative ; 7 x 7 cm (2 1/2 x 2 1/2 in.); 1 photoprint : black-and-white ; 13 x 18 cm (5 x 7 in.)Born-Digital or AnalogAnalogSubjectColumbian Hotel (Trinidad, Colo.)Trinidad (Colo.)Hotels--Colorado--TrinidadGeographic AreaTrinidad (Colo.)CollectionPhotographs - Western HistoryRelated MaterialImage File: ZZR710001913Type of MaterialFilm negativesPhotographic printsBlack & white photographsOriginal Material Found in CollectionWH1204.
