The Grand Lodge of the Grand Jurisdiction of Colorado was organized in 1879. Members in full uniform including dark jackets, trousers, epaulets, striped belts, white gloves and helmets with shields and plumes form three rows. The back row stands with sabers across their chests, the second kneels with sabers pointed down in front of them and the front row is seated and consists of three Knights with helmets and sabers in their laps and a young boy has a snare drum with drumsticks between his legs. Two black men wearing suits flank the ends, one with a rooster in his arms. All but one young man and the boy have mustaches.
