The wood frame house was built in 1879, designed by architect Eugene Robitaille with clapboard siding and a swept dormer with stained glass, which has the eye design from Colorado's state seal. Other features include decorative gables with a diamond pattern on the porch gable, spool and spindle porch frieze and turned posts, a wood panel entry door with two rectangular and two square glass panels and a stained glass window to the left of the door. Several metal bed frames are on the porch and a mailbox hangs on the right side of the door. A Christmas tree is on the side of the house and snow covers the roof and ground. Caroline Bancroft stands in front of a wood frame house next door with projecting bay window on left. She wears a fur coat, plaid skirt, turban hat, glasses, and has a purse in her right hand.
