The earrings are beautiful--even I can recognize that--but could you have seen Mamie's pleasure, you would have known that your little surprise was not only complete but thoroughly successful. I cannot tell you how grateful I am. Give my love to Dan. One of these fine days maybe the doctors will let him come in for a few minutes if he should happen to be around at the time.
