Ames Monument. Wyoming. Erected in 1881-82 in honor of Oliver and Oakes Ames, financiers and builders, of U.p-.R.R. A granite pyramid 60 feet square at the base and 00 feet high, with a pointed cap. In the center of the east side, 30 feet from the base, is a likeness of Oliver times cut in bas relief, and at the same height on the west side is one of Oakes Ames. These likenesses, four times the size of a man, are in Quincy granite, and were 'cut in Boston frog designs of eastern artists. The monument was erected abbot 6000-feet from the
