All the mountains of Colorado are included in the vast chain of the Rockies which stretches into Canada. This range was namvd the "Stony Mountains"' or "Rocky Mountains"' before the time of Lewis and Clark. President Jefferson, in his instructions to them, used the term "Stony Mountains"."
