Notes
"The architect's design is a one-story building encompassing a central court area which houses animal runs. Corridor areas and certain other research and instrument rooms have windows looking into the court area. All exterior walls from rooms are windowless. Much of the time during the day is spent by research people in interior spaces and therefore small glassed corner areas are provided to afford varying vistas and relief from the areas of higher mental concentration. The corner block areas are double level. At ground level they provide space for toilet facilites, cage wash areas, shop area etc. On the upper level of these corner blocks are housed all mechanical equipment, primarily fans, air conditioning equipment, etc. Each upper block area takes care of its adjacent room facilites, providing separate mechanical zones."--From paper on back of photoprint.; Hand-written on back of photoprint: Life Sciences Bldg.
