This two-story brick court house in Kiowa, Elbert County, Colorado, has stone trim and ornamenting above the double-hung sash windows. Incised letters over the door read: "Elbert County Courthouse." Chain is stretched between wooden posts in the foreground, and a spool with a gear end is wound with rope or decayed firehose.
