Nate Salsbury sits on a wood chair in front of a large tent, possibly in Chicago outside of the World's Fair, while on tour with Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. Salsbury is wearing a suit and has a full beard and moustache. He holds his hands at the top of a cane that rests aginst his legs. His right leg is crossed over his left. The tent in the background has a wood frame. A top hat and a poster of Buffalo Bill lie on a table which stands in the tent. Salsbury was an actor and managed the Salsbury Troubadours before taking over as manager of Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show in 1883. Born in Freeport, Illinois in 1846, Salsbury first met William Frederick "Buffalo Bill" Cody in New York in 1882. The pair joined forces the following year and Salsbury led Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show to enormous success in the United States and Europe. He died in 1902.
