Image of Central City, Colorado, taken at the turn of the century from the southwest. In the foreground is the ball park, railroad tracks, and the train depot. A black puff of smoke rises from the train as it arrives at the depot. Along Main Street is the Armory Building, Old City Hall, and Foresters Hall with "Always Ask for Beeman's" painted on the side. St. Aloysisus' Convent and School is to the far left of the photograph. St. Mary's Church, the Teller House, the Opera House, and St. James are in the center of the photograph. St. Paul's Church is to the far right and is partially obscured by the smoke from the train. Houses cover the barren hillside that rises above the town.
