A passenger train of the Colorado Central Railroad passes under a bridge in the left background heading east toward Georgetown in Clear Creek County, Colorado. The train travels along the Georgetown Loop, a narrow-gauge railroad that looped about 300 feet in 4 miles in order to gain elevation between Georgetown and Silver Plume. The Georgetown Loop was a popular scenic attraction built between 1883 and 1884 as a branch of the Union Pacific. The high bridge was 75 feet above the track beneath it. The high trestle was dismantled in 1939. Rocks line the hillside below the track in the left foreground. Clear Creek runs through the right midground.
