Shows L-plan house in disrepair with boarded up entry door and windows on projecting three-sided bay and upper story, front stoop missing rail and balusters, and powerlines strung from roof. Capitalist Smith C. Foote, developer of the Foote & Richardson Addition with Dr. J. P. Richardson, began construction of this five-room brick house in 1880; John Sharp ; completed the work in 1882. James Patternson, who owned the lumber yard in Lake City, added the French- inspired shingled mansard roof between 1897 and 1902; it was later owned by John and Vera Vickers, who operated the Senate Saloon, billiard hall, bowling alley, livery stable and, in 1929, the Vickers Dude Ranch.
