Title	American City
Summary	Exterior view of the remains of Hotel Del Monte in American City, Gilpin County, northwest of Black Hawk, Colorado, shows the log cabin built into the slope of the hill with intersecting gables and a dilapidated front deck with rail. Sign aside of two sash windows reads "Hotel del Monte." The town flourished in the late 1890s and early 1900s with several mine and milling companies.
