Summary
Men and boys stand or sit beside a horse-drawn buggy and a log cabin, possibly the home of John H. Kemp, in Eldora (Eldorado) in the Grand Island Mining District of Boulder County, Colorado. Men beside a wooden fence are identified left to right as: "John H. Kemp, discoverer of the Placer, Olaf J. Olesen, contractor and builder, John A. Gilfillan, locator of the Clara Mine, unknown, [?] Yockey, unknown, Henry Lucia, [?] Yockey, Clarence Rogers, Marion Rogers, J.K. McGinnis, [?] Sims." Miners wear jackets or shirts with suspenders, trousers, and caps or hats with curled brims. Boys sit on the ground near dogs and wear knit caps, suspenders or jackets, and boots. The log cabin has a gabled roof and a front porch.
