male
quartet
was
continuously
active
from
1905
to
1943
. In the
earlier
years
it
made
Chautauqua
appearances
,
while
the
work
locally
was
principally
for
Masonic
bodies
,
although
not
wholly
so
. As
first
organized
the
personnel
of the
quartet
consisted
of
Frank
Farmer
,
1st
tenor
,
Llewelyn
Jones
,
2nd
tenor
,
C
.
W
.
Kettering
,
1st
bass
, and
F
.
W
.
Carringer
,
2nd
bass
.
Farmer
left
the
quartet
in
1912
and his
place
was
taken
by
Robert
Edwards
,
while
Jones
and
Kettering
sang
the
entire
time
until
the
death
of
Jones
in
1943
when
work
was
discontinued
.
Meanwhile
,
John
C
.
Kendel
succeeded
Carringer
as
2nd
bass
.
