Summary
Men and a woman pose on the boardwalk in Canon City, Colorado. Storefronts behind them have a gabled false front, corbeled cornice, and arching windows. The woman wears a checked dress with a fur hat. A man wearing striped prison pants and suspenders sits in a horse-drawn buggy in the dirt street. A projecting sign with a curved center reads: "J. Cole, Sign Painters" another reads:"The Mercury." A sandwichboard reads: "Carson Coal The Mercury...."
