The porch of the Hotel Splendide in North Empire, Clear Creek County, Colorado, has seven posts with decorative woodwork and a decorative carved railing between the posts. Chairs and rocking chairs are on the porch; the view beyond includes trees, buildings, and mountains. The business was established in 1860 as the Peck House, and was called the Hotel Splendide between about 1950 and 1972, when the name was changed back to the Peck House.
