Summary
View of the northwest side of Altman, Colorado, located three miles north of Victor in Teller County, includes small wood frame residences, sheds, outhouses, false front businesses, smelters, mines, and tailing dumps. Business signs include: "Geo McMillan, Grocer" and "Johnson & Co., Dry Goods." The smokestack on the left is the Pharmacist Mine, center is the Free Coinage Mine. The "X" marks the location of James. G. Murphy (manager of the Findly Mine) and his wife Nellie Taylor's cabin, built in 1894. Snow-covered Pikes Peak and mountains are in the background.
