Native American (Hidatsa) painted bison hide shows: rows of thin parallel lines capped with circles or u-shapes and separated by rows of bold lines; some rows with stick figures; stick figures and clusters of lines border the central design. Collected by Maximilian Prince of Wied from the upper Missouri riverbanks around 1844.
