Summary	Pioneer Leadville residents pose in front of their early homes in 1879, Colorado. The man and woman in the center, dressed in their finest, stand with their baby girl on a wood chair. Two men and another woman stand next to them, with a nursing burro and its mother. A man in a suit and hat stands to the right of the group with a loaded pack mule. Homes consist of a wall tent and log cabin with saddle joints and split timber roof. A wooden chair and table can be seen through an open cabin door; an ax and three pick axes lean on the corner of the cabin. Cut pieces of timber are in the foreground and false front businesses are in the background.
