Notes
Formerly MO106.; Penciled on back of photoprint: "Town Hall. The Star Hook and Ladder Company once occupied this solidly-constructed building, directly across Alpine Street from the Hotel de Paris. The company's coat of arms can be seen on the front of the building. The tower, removed for reasons of safety a few years back, once held a bell. It was said that everyone in town could discern from the tone of each of the seven fire bells which company was ringing, and presumably which one was first to sound the alarm. Once a rich golden yellow, this building was painted white along with the other two fire houses for reasons of economy." Hand-written in ink: "Star Hook & ladder Fire House (now Town Hall), Georgetown, Colorado, 1961."; Photoprint has tape adhesive on back.; Stamped on discarded glassine negative sleeve: MOSS Photography, 617 HOWARD ST., S.F.; Title supplied by cataloger.; R7100012993
