Exterior view of the Ennis House Hotel, Georgetown, Colorado, opened by A.B. Leggett in 1869 at Fifth (5th) and Taos Streets. The hotel became the Ennis House when Miss Kate Ennis took over. The two-story building is in Italianate style, with overhanging eaves supported by brackets, pedimented windows, square gables, and a widows' walk. A second- story balcony runs the width of the building and holds six women and five children. Six men cluster around the door below, and four others gather at the corner under the "Ennis House" sign. Both streets have board sidewalks; other wood construction buildings are on Taos Street.
