View facing southeast of Cliff Palace, ancient Native American (Anasazi) cliff dwellings, after excavation, Chapin Mesa, Mesa Verde National Park, Montezuma County, Colorado. The stone masonry cliff dwellings stand underneath a cliffside overhang. The south end of the pueblo has square and T-shaped door openings and includes six underground grand kivas or dance plazas, and the Round Tower ruin.
