St. James Methodist Church is on the intersection of Eureka and County Road Streets in Central City, Colorado. The church is the oldest Protestant congregation and church in Colorado. Built into the hillside, the building was completed in 1872 and houses a pipe organ, which was operated by water power until 1932. Wood frame and masonry buildings are across and down the street from the church. Cars are parked along County Road Street. Trees grow on the hillside behind the church.
