Summary
A soldier from the 1st Battalion, 86th Mountain Infantry Regiment, Tenth Mountain Division ties the ropes fastening a part of 37-mm pack gun onto an American pack mule during the Italian Campaign. According to the caption the piece weighs 22 pounds and two mules were necessary to carry the whole weapon. The image provides a good view of the harness.
