Summary	In this sixth grade classroom at Boyd School in Alamosa, Colorado, boys and girls sit in rows of wooden desks. Two children stand and read at bookshelves built into the back of the room. A boy with a paintbrush works on a mural of the Nativity scene on the side blackboard. A clock hangs above bookshelves that hold evergreens, candles, and a framed picture of a windmill on the top shelf. Boys wear overalls, flannel shirts, and sweater vests and the girls wear dresses or blouses, and barrettes or bows in their hair.
