Notes
Penciled title and photographer's stamp on back of photoprint.; Typed paper on back of photoprint reads: "Pinewood School House. District No. 19. Rattlesnake Park, Colorado. Near Pinewood, Colorado. Believed to be the oldest school house in Colorado that is still standing and in good condition. It is still in use and just as it was built in 1873. Sixty years ago in 1933. It was built by Amos Penoyer, a pioneer rancher of Pinewood region. During the 80's and the 90's it was on the main traveled road between Loveland and Estes Park and there were many homes and ranches along this road. When the road was finally blasted thru the Loveland or Big Thompson Canyon in 1905 and the traffic went this way then the old Bald Mountain road thru Rattlesnake Park was abandoned.; R7100130254
