View of the Government Building during the Trans-Mississippi and International Exposition in Omaha (Douglas County), Nebraska. The structure has a wooden frame with plaster of Paris and staff overlay. The neo-classical Ionic style building has three sections, all with balustrades and cornices. In the center section a large dome is capped by a statue of "Liberty Enlightening the World" lighted by electricity. The main entrance has pavilions on both sides with small decorated domes. The Fountain of Neptune is situated in the Grand Canal. Flags on the building fly at half mast. Pedestrians walk on the promenade.
